Bachelor of Science in Physics

The Bachelor of Science in Physics provides students with a broad knowledge of fundamental physics and its applications. Students develop the skills of investigation and experimentation required to analyze data and solve physical science problems using analytical, computational, graphical and mathematical methods. The curriculum provides students with a foundation for entry into a variety of applied physics and physics-related jobs in industry or government labs, and prepares them for teaching at the secondary school level or for post-graduate education in physics and astronomy. Physics is the natural science that deals with the properties and interactions of matter and radiation. As such, physics provides the fundamental basis for all other sciences, and for applied science fields such as engineering and the health sciences. Many physicists engage in research designed to expand the frontiers of physical knowledge, others engage in the application of physics concepts in industry and in private and government laboratories.

First-year students must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Be a high school graduate or equivalent.

Complete the 15-unit comprehensive \u201cA-G\u201d pattern with a grade of C- or better by high school graduation.

"A-G" requirement may not be completed during the summer term prior to fall enrolment.

Earn a competitive Multi Factor Admission Score (MFAS)
