Master of Education (Advanced) in Special Education - Complex Communication Needs

Intended for education or therapy professionals to enhance their experience and understandings of the specific skills required to communicate with teach support and include individuals with complex communication needsProfessionals who will benefit from specialisation content may be working in general or special education school settings or in communitybased organisations that work with and support individuals with complex communication needs and their familiesLearning OutcomesTransmit specialised knowledge skills and ideas to audiences engaged in the education of students with complex communication needsAnalyse complex problems to generate creative solutions for individuals with complex needsCritically analyse professional approaches to understanding and programming for behaviour literacy instruction and creating communication accessible environments for individuals with complex communication needs within a diverse range of educative contextsManage own learning within a collaborative learning environment

All applicants are required to have a Bachelor of Education. Alternatively applicants can have a Bachelor level degree in any other field, plus a Graduate Diploma of Education or a Master of Teaching. Special entry may be considered for students with a Bachelor level degree in another field, or a three-year trained teacher, both supported by extensive professional experience, with equivalents considered. Academic admission requirements (Band 8) may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline; orWhere accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.
