Bachelor of Architecture

The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) program leads to a professional degree accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)--the educational credentials needed for licensure as a registered, practicing architect.

The primary mission of the B.Arch program is to prepare students for the practice of architecture. The School fulfills this mission through an urban design studio, a comprehensive building design studio and various lecture courses. B.Arch students use the School and faculty as rich resources in the development of their professional interests.

Students should have completed high school education.

Fall Admissions Criteria:

3.00 Recalculated (FAMU Admissions) Core Academic Grade-Point Average on 4.00 Scale

English language requirements

Applicants whose native language is not English must take an English proficiency exam. The following are the minimum scores required for undergraduate admission to the University:

Internet based TOEFL (IBTOEFL): 80

Computer-based TOEFL: 173

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6

For Fall admissions, the SAET typically begins to review applications on February 1. Admission is competitive and considered on a space-available basis. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the application materials are submitted by the university deadline.
