Our Bachelor of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary study of women and gender in cross-cultural and historical perspectives. You'll explore how women's lives have been shaped by history, culture, nationality, class and other elements of diversity.In the Women's Studies major, interdisciplinary courses in Women's Studies and cross-listed courses in other disciplines enhance students' knowledge about women, feminism, and the significance of gender in diverse cultures and contexts. Students gain tools for analyzing the construction of women and gender, the relationship between gender and power and the intersection of gender with sexuality, nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, class, age and ability. Major courses foster intellectual exchange, creative pursuits, social justice advocacy, and global perspectives thereby contributing to the university's reputation for excellence and relevance in the 21st century.
