Master of Social Work (Qualifying)

A recognised Bachelor degree or higher in a related field that includes at least one-year full-time study in social and behavioural sciences. Examples of suitable study areas that may qualify for entry include, but are not limited to, anthropology, allied health, community development, counselling, criminology, disability, education, gender studies, human services, indigenous studies, mental health, nursing, political science, psychological sciences, psychology, public health, sociology, and social welfare. All applications to the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) will be assessed by a senior social work academic to determine the suitability of the applicant\u2019s prior study to ensure it meets the foundational knowledge requirements of ASWEAS Standard 7.1b. Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma Pathway Applicants who possess a recognised Bachelor degree but do not have at least four relevant subjects completed in social and behavioural sciences can gain entry to the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) upon successful completion of a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and Psychotherapy at Ikon Institute of Australia. Applicants who possess a recognised Bachelor degree with at least four relevant subjects completed in social and behavioural sciences can gain entry to the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) upon successful completion of a Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Ikon Institute of Australia.
