If you want to improve lives and build healthier communities, Montclair State University’s Bachelor of Science in Public Health program is the place to start. Unlike clinical careers that treat individuals, public health focuses on preventing disease, promoting wellness and advancing health equity for entire populations—locally, nationally and globally. At Montclair, you’ll study pressing issues such as chronic disease, mental health, substance use, maternal and child health and healthcare access, all through a lens of social justice and health equity. You’ll also gain hands-on experience that prepares you for careers in government agencies, hospitals, nonprofit organizations, community clinics, schools, and corporations. Program Highlights: Choose from two concentrations — Health Education, Promotion, and Advocacy and Health Systems Administration and Policy. CEPH-accredited program ensuring high-quality training. Integrated approach to local, national, and global health challenges. Hands-on learning through internships, research, and community partnerships. With a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, you’ll graduate ready to promote health, prevent disease and lead positive change. You can also work toward a combined BSMPH or combined BSMBA. Health Systems Administration and Policy: Develop skills to improve healthcare systems with a focus on equity and accessibility. The Health Systems Administration and Policy concentration in Montclair State University’s Bachelor of Public Health program prepares you for administrative roles within a health system. You’ll learn essential competencies such as using data to inform healthcare decision-making so that you can play a role in improving healthcare delivery whether you work for a small group practice, a senior living facility, or a local, state or federal health agency. You’ll explore how healthcare is financed and delivered and examine how policies shape healthcare access, cost and quality. Courses emphasize transforming health systems from focusing solely on treating illness to advancing prevention and health equity. Our graduates are prepared for diverse careers as case managers, project managers, policy analysts, patient navigators, hospital coordinators, data analysts and healthcare administrators, as well as for advanced study in public health, policy or healthcare management.
