Family Nurse Practitioner (Advanced Certificate)

Our master’s programs are designed for nurses seeking advanced roles in clinical practice (nurse practitioners and nurse midwives), clinical research nursing, education, and informatics, while providing the necessary foundation for doctoral study. Graduates are prepared as nurse practitioners (NP) in one of the following disciplines: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP, Family NP, Pediatrics NP Primary Care, Pediatrics NP PrimaryAcute Care, Psychiatric Mental Health NP, and Nurse Midwifery. Graduates are prepared in leadership roles in one of the following disciplines: Clinical Research Nursing, Nursing Education, and Nursing Informatics. Graduates may also complete specialty sequences in one of these concentrations: Substance Related Disorders, Palliative Care, and Holistic Nursing. The curriculum includes core courses in research, statistics, population-focused care, issues and trends in healthcare delivery, and contemporary practice roles. Consistent with graduate education national standards, the NP, Nurse Midwifery, Clinical Research Nursing, and Nursing Education curricula require the students to take the Three P’s; Advanced Pathophysiology Across the lifespan, Clinical Pharmacotherapeutics Across the Lifespan, and Advanced Physical Assessment Across the Lifespan (for Pediatrics NP – Advanced Physical Assessment Across the Pediatric Lifespan).
