Applicants to the MBBS programme in Malaysia must meet both the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) requirements and the university's entry requirements.
The MMC requirements are as follows:
- At Year 12 (pre-university level, e.g., Matriculation, Foundation, Pre-Medical programme, A-Levels, STPM, etc.), students must have studied Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics.
- At Year 10 or Year 11 (SPM, IGCSE, O-Levels, or equivalent), students must have achieved 5Bs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics/Additional Mathematics, and one other subject. However, this Year 10 or Year 11 requirement is waived if the student\u2019s Year 12 qualification is A-Levels or STPM.
Students who have completed the SPM, O-Level or equivalent programmes must first complete a recognised pre-university qualification as a basic requirement for entry to an undergraduate degree at NUMed Malaysia.
Whatever pre-university qualifications you offer, they should include the science subjects Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Mathematics at a level equivalent to A-Level or STPM.
A UCAT result is currently not required for entry to NUMed Malaysia. The entrance requirements below apply to 2026 entry.
A-Level - ABB at A-Level in the required science subjects including Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics. Further consideration may be given for additional academic achievements. We do not accept General Studies or Critical Thinking as A-Level entry qualifications.
International Baccalaureate Diploma - A minimum of 33 points with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at Higher Level (HL) and attained a minimum score of 5 and above in each subject. IB overall points include the additional points available for the Theory of Knowledge/Extended Essay.
STPM - Normally ABB based on the required science subjects. Further consideration may be given for additional academic achievements.
