Bachelor of Science in Forestry

Improve forest quality with silvicultural prescriptions. NAU's School of Forestry is a national and international leader in forest research with a deep commitment to protecting the environment. Our programs will engage you in exploration of ecological concepts and principles, including ecosystem structure and function, plant and animal communities, competition, diversity, population flux, disturbance, and nutrient cycling. You'll also gain skills to analyze the economic, environmental, and social consequences of forest resource management strategies and decisions.

Official transcripts from all secondary (high school) and post-secondary (college/university) education to your application for the admission evaluation (including vocational and ESL transcripts).Require a minimum 2.5 grade-point average (GPA) on a 4-point scale for first-year and transfer students without an associate degree.Admission requirements - Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required. You do not need to apply for admission to the School of Forestry to take courses in the preprofessional program; your admission to Northern Arizona University is sufficient. However, application and admission to our professional program is required. You must complete all of the listed lower-division preprofessional courses before you can be admitted to and enrolled in the professional program, which starts with course numbers FOR 313, FOR 315, FOR 320, FOR 321. You can apply for admission to the professional program after you have completed at least 36 of the 50 units of preprofessional courses. To be accepted into the professional program, you must - Have an overall grade point average of 2.75 or higher in all of the preprofessional courses (excluding FOR 220, non-prerequisite General Studies and elective courses) Have earned a grade of 'C' or better in: BIO 181, BIO 181L, BIO 182, BIO 182L(CHM 130, CHM 130L) or CHM 151, CHM 151L)CST 111ECO 280ENG 105FOR 101, FOR 211, FOR 213, FOR 215, FOR 218, FOR 220, FOR 225, FOR 251MAT 125 or MAT 136STA 270If you haven't yet completed all of the preprofessional courses, you may be admitted conditionally if you meet the grade point average requirements and have successfully completed at least 36 units of this coursework. In this case, you must complete the remaining required coursework with a grade point average of 2.75 or better before you can begin the professional program courses. If your GPA is not 2.75 or higher, your admission to the professional program will be canceled.
