Bachelor of Science in Health Science

At SHU, youll gain a comprehensive understanding of the health care system and its many specialties -- allowing you to create a flexible career path in the health field, or continue to graduate school to obtain an advanced health care degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, public health, pre-accelerated nursing and more.
In the BS in Health Science program, you will also:
Learn to evaluate trends in health care and its systems, policies and environments
Understand health care inequities and how to prioritize approaches to health care access
Develop leadership skills for strategic planning and professional management
Study in a well-rounded health care curriculum that pairs well with future graduate work
Apply epidemiological analysis to health data, and apply biological, cultural and social determinants of health and their effects on health equality
Identify approaches to health care system diversity and demonstrate cultural competence in personal and professional interactions
Develop ethical standards, values and attitudes appropriate to health care professionals

Students must have completed the equivalent of a United States secondary-school education (approximately twelve years of formal education) and have the appropriate diploma or satisfactory results on leaving examinations.

For all non-native English speakers, an official English language proficiency examination is required. The following examinations and minimum scores are accepted:
