Students must meet the entry requirements for their chosen study program in order to be accepted to Sheridan College. Requirements vary between individual courses, and students are advised to carefully check the specifics for their preferred study program prior to commencing the application process.
For the most competitive programs, students will typically need a minimum GPA of 75 – 80 percent for their application to be considered.
For postgraduate courses, applicants are expected to hold a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related subject area, or have completed a minimum of two years' work experience in a closely related field.
However, students who do not meet the eligibility criteria for their chosen course are encouraged to contact the college directly to discuss their options.
All classes at Sheridan College are taught in English. As such, international students may be asked to provide evidence of their English language proficiency. The minimum language requirements are as follows:
Equivalent qualifications are also accepted, and Sheridan College also offers its own ESL program to students who wish to improve their English to a sufficient level to enrol on a study program at the college.
Students at Sheridan College enjoy state-of-the-art equipment, facilities, and resources. Learning takes place in modern, inspiring settings, which receive continual investment to ensure they remain up to date.
Students benefit from Sheridan College's extensive library, which boasts over 724,000 resources across its collections, with almost 90 percent of these available electronically. Students can also make use of the library's group and individual study spaces, and a number of computer rooms.
The college has varsity teams across a range of sports, and students are encouraged to use the cutting-edge sports and exercise facilities available at every campus, no matter their level of fitness.
Sheridan College has its own modern residences at both the Davis (Brampton) campus and the Trafalgar (Oakville) campus. Accommodation is two-bedroom and suite style, with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Residence buildings also boast a range of communal areas, including movie rooms and games rooms. New international students receive a complimentary residence package including bedding, pillows and a towel.
Sheridan provides dedicated resources for students interested in off-campus housing.

All new full-time international students who meet the eligibility requirements, automatically receive an International Entrance Scholarship ranging in value from CAD 1,000 to CAD 3,000.
International students may also avail of Sheridan's Global Advantage Award which, if received, provides an additional CAD 2,000 of funding in addition to the entrance scholarships. More details on the Global Advantage Award may be found on Sheridan's website.
Every year, the college gives out hundreds of financial awards to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement.
Sheridan College offers bursaries to eligible students who can demonstrate financial need.
Students can also make use of a range of external awards to fund their studies at the college.
Sheridan and the City of Brampton – together with over 35 community organizations – are committed to enacting meaningful change for international students who choose to study in Canada. The Charter aims to ensure international students have the opportunity to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
In 2024, Sheridan College unveiled new interdisciplinary spaces at its Trafalgar Road Campus. Designed to foster collaboration and creativity across research, innovation and entrepreneurship, these dedicated spaces include new and refreshed lab spaces, multifunctional rooms, and communal areas.
