Engineering PhD

Research at the School of Engineering addresses diverse and complex challenges across the entire field of engineering, from the nano- to the macroglobal scales. At the smallest scale, our research supports the design and deployment of novel nanotechnology and devices for biological monitoring and medical diagnosis. At the macroglobal scale, it optimises the security and sustainability of the built environment and develops engineering solutions to climate change issues.A research degree programme in Engineering at the University of Edinburgh is your chance to connect with internationally renowned researchers and innovators. We carry out world-class research and provide high-quality training in research skills.
