Chemical engineering integrates chemistry, physics, maths and biology to design and develop the processes behind nearly every product we use today including fuels, medicines, food and drink.By changing the chemical, physical, andor biochemical states of substances, chemical engineers work to deliver solutions to society’s challenges such as developing new sources of energy, protecting the environment and providing better health and nutrition.Chemical engineers, also known as process engineers, take labsmall-scale production up to industrial scale. This can be bioprocesses like pharmaceuticals, food such as bread, industrial chemicals like fertilizers, or even nuclear power plants.
