English Literature and Classical Literature & Civilisation - BA (Hons)

Applicants are required to have three A Levels at grades ABB, including English Literature or English Literature and Language. Alternatively, candidates may present the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 32 points overall, including 6, 5, and 5 in Higher Level subjects, which must include English Literature or English Literature and Language. For BTEC qualifications, applicants must include a grade B in English Literature or English Literature and Language. Accepted BTEC combinations are: Extended Diploma at DDD, Diploma at DD plus a B at A Level, or Subsidiary Diploma at D plus AB at A Level. Applicants who take the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and meet offer criteria will be made the typical offer for their programme, plus an alternative offer which is one grade lower plus a grade A in the EPQ; this alternative offer applies if Birmingham is chosen as the firm choice. Similarly, applicants taking the Core Maths qualification and meeting the criteria will be made the typical offer plus an alternative offer one grade lower plus a grade A in Core Maths; however, this alternative offer is not available if the applicant is also taking A-level Maths. This offer also applies if Birmingham is the firm choice.
