Applicants are expected to achieve A Level grades between AAA and ABB, depending on the number of preferred science subjects offered. Preferred subjects include Biology/Human Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, PE/Sports Studies, Psychology, Physics, Statistics, and Geology, while subjects such as Applied Science, Citizenship Studies, Communication and Culture, Critical Studies, Critical Thinking, General Studies, Moving Image Arts, Science in Society, Use of Maths, and World Development are excluded. Some applicants with multiple preferred subjects and an exceptional supporting statement may be considered with ABB. For the International Baccalaureate, a total of 32 points is required with Higher Level grades between 6,6,6 and 6,5,5 depending on the number of preferred science subjects taken. BTEC Extended Diploma in a science-related subject is considered, while the BTEC Diploma is accepted in combination with one A Level, and the Subsidiary Diploma is accepted with two A Levels. Specific BTEC qualifications include: the Extended Diploma (18 units) in Applied Human Biology, Applied Science, Equine Management, Health and Social Care, Sport, Sport and Exercise Science, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Sport, Fitness and Personal Training, Sporting Excellence and Performance, or Sports Coaching and Development, considered with D*D*D; the Diploma (12 units) in Applied Human Biology, Applied Science, Equine Management, Health and Social Care, Sport, Sport and Exercise Science, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Sport Performance and Excellence, Sport Development Coaching and Fitness, or Sport, Fitness and Personal Training, considered with D*D plus grade A or B in an accepted A Level subject (A Level grade requirements depend on the number of preferred science subjects studied); and the Subsidiary Diploma (6 units) in Applied Human Biology, Applied Psychology, Applied Science, Business, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, Equine Management, Health and Social Care, Personal and Business Finance, Sport, Sport and Exercise Science, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Sport and Outdoor Activities, Sport, Fitness and Personal Training, Sporting Excellence and Performance, or Sports Coaching and Development, considered with grade D plus two A Levels at AA to BB, again dependent on the number of preferred science subjects studied. Additionally, applicants must hold GCSE passes at grade 4/C or above in Mathematics, English, and a science subject.
