Master of the Environment - Renewable and Sustainable Energy

The Master of the Environment (MENV) Graduate Program at the University of Colorado Boulder is an innovative, interdisciplinary professional master’s degree that equips students with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to address the complex environmental challenges of the 21st Century. This 21-month, immersive, cohort-based graduate program develops students into leaders in a wide range of careers in conservation, consulting, energy, natural resources, planning, policy, sustainability and more. The aim of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Specialization is to cultivate professionals within the clean energy and decarbonization sector. Our global society is currently undergoing a significant shift towards a carbon-neutral economy, with a strong emphasis on clean energy. Students pursuing the RSE program will acquire a comprehensive grasp of the technological, regulatory, and commercial dimensions of this energy transition. This encompasses factors like fairness, adaptability, and public well-being, which are pivotal for a prosperous tomorrow.

To be considered for the MENV program, students must have a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution or the international equivalent. We recommend a minimum of one year of professional experience or applicable training prior to applying. Submit recommendations directly online through the application system. The MENV program does not consider the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) as part of its review process. IELTS: 6.0; TOEFL ibt: 75; TOEFL pbt: 537. University Requirement: Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or have done work equivalent to that required for such a degree. Have adequate preparation to enter graduate study in the chosen field. Have at least a 2.75 (2.00=C) undergraduate grade point average.
