Master of Science in Legal Administration - Law Firm Administration

Through the Master of Science in Legal Administration (MSLA) program, the Sturm College of Law will prepare you for a successful career in legal management. Since 1972, the MSLA program has provided students with the knowledge and skills to run a law firm or legal organization, both nationally and internationally. The MSLA degree is a blend of business and law that offers flexibility for students.To accommodate the needs of our students, all courses are offered online. Students may attend in more of a full-time or part-time capacity, whichever works best for them, and graduate in one to four years. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and have varying interests; some are working professionals, while others are students interested in entering the field of legal administration.The Law Firm Administration concentration educates students to operate a law firm or legal organization. By blending political science, business and management as it applies to the legal field and legal culture, students will explore all aspects of managing a law firm.Graduates of the Law Firm Administration concentration advance their careers through positions like human resources management directors, practice area marketing specialists, marketing directors, training specialists, networking managers, etc. The flexibility of the concentration also enables students to take specialized courses depending on their areas of interest, qualifying them for more specialized positions.

A candidate for the Masters must have earned a bachelors degree from an accredited higher education institution or in the case of a foreign candidate obtained the equivalent of a bachelors degree from an acknowledged institution of higher learning GRE GMAT is not required except for the Master of Taxation programGMAT is required only for the Master of Taxation however for any application submitted on or after April 1st 2015 we will consider you waived from the GMAT if you have one or more of the following attributesYou received a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 30You received a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting and you have earned a graduate level degree from an accredited schoolA minimum GPA of 2.5 for the baccalaureate degree or 3.0 for all completed graduate coursework.You have passed all four parts of the CPA Exam Verification must be sent as an official document from the testing authority to Graduate Legal Studies before you can register for classesGMAT or GRE are not required for any other LLM or Masters programs
