Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology

Kinesiology focuses on understanding human movement and the role of physical activity and exercise in health and disease. Kinesiologists use tools from behavioral medicine, molecular biology, neuroscience, engineering, medicine, and computer science to solve problems in diverse settings including labs, hospitals, wellness centers, and communities.
A B.S. in Kinesiology builds on a foundation of interdisciplinary sciences including biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and statistics. The student learning objectives are to successfully:
Explain the scientific foundations of human movement including: physiology, biomechanics, motor control, behavior, and the relevance of physical activity to human health
Demonstrate knowledge and practical skills necessary to work in kinesiology and related fields
Promote inequity and improve inclusion in research and practice in kinesiology and related fields
Effectively analyze and interpret numerical and statistical information relevant to kinesiology
Clearly communicate scientific information about kinesiology to a diverse population

Admission to the first-year class is selective and is contingent upon successful completion of required high school courses at a level consistent with the university’s admissions standards

Unscripted interview: While not required for admission, all international students may choose to submit a third-party unscripted interview
