The History major at UNH explores the past to understand its impact on the present and future. It offers a broad curriculum, allowing students to focus on specific countries, regions, time periods, or cultural aspects like religion or science. The program emphasizes critical reading and writing skills essential for various careers and graduate studies. UNH's top-ranked history department features award-winning, internationally recognized faculty who love to teach. As a major public research university, we emphasize hands-on learning through research assistantships and internships in government agencies, archives, museums, or historical societies.

Secondary and/or university transcript(s) of any coursework taken prior to applying to UNH, with English translations, are required. International documents received by UNH Admissions are verified, scanned, and confidentially destroyed. Official documents submitted will not be returned to the student.
