Electronic and Computer Engineering with a Year Abroad - BEng (Hons)

In a world filled with smart devices and rapid advancements in automation, from robotics and driverless vehicles to artificial intelligence, there is huge demand for engineers who can work on both the software and the underpinning electronic and electrical frameworks that support and enable modern intelligent systems. In this course, a lot of what you’ll learn will be through hands-on practical labs, working both individually and in groups. Accredited by the [Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET),](https:www.theiet.org) students benefit from strong graduate outcomes and competitive starting salaries. Our course provides the required professional expertise you need for a successful career in engineering or in a variety of other professions. Through a combination of lecture material and extensive lab-based projects, working individually and in small teams, you will build the numerical, analytical and technical knowledge and skills to meet the engineering challenges of the future. All undergraduate students in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering initially follow a common programme of study, learning the fundamental skills of this discipline. As you progress through the course, the core content and practical projects will focus towards your area of specialisation. During your second year, you can study at either our [China or Malaysia campus](https:www.nottingham.ac.ukcurrentstudentsstudy-abroadindex.aspx) where you will have the opportunity to continue your academic studies, whilst experiencing  a new culture and environment.
