Highers / Advanced Highers - Standard entry requirements: AABB at Higher (Chemistry A, Biology/Human Biology A, Maths/Application of Maths B, English B) AND BB at Advanced Higher (Chemistry is essential with Biology preferred; Physics and Maths can be considered as an alternative to Biology). Two Advanced Highers are required for Year 2 entry, which is the normal entry point. English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or Geography or Modern Studies or History will be considered in place of Higher English B. Minimum entry requirements: 1st sitting: standard entry is for year 2 from S6 only. Exceptions will be considered at AABC for year 1 entry, including Chemistry A, Biology/Human Biology A, Maths/Application of Maths B and English C). English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or Geography or Modern Studies or History will be considered in place of Higher English C. 2nd sitting: Higher AABC (Chemistry A, Biology/Human Biology A, Maths/Applications of Maths B and English C). English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or Geography or Modern Studies or History will be considered in place of Higher English C, plus Advanced Higher in Chemistry B and Biology C; Physics or Maths considered as an alternative to Biology. A Levels Standard entry requirements: Year 2 entry: AAB (Chemistry, Biology and an additional subject, with Maths or Physics preferred. GCSE Maths 6/B (if not taken to A Level), GCSE English Language 6/B. A pass in the A Level Chemistry practical is required, where offered). International Baccalaureate Standard entry requirements: Year 2 entry: 34 (Chemistry HL6, Biology HL6, another subject at HL6 (Maths SL6, English SL6, required if not studied at HL) included in overall total of not less than 34 at first attempt)
