Master of Public Health - Epidemiology

The Master of Public Health (MPH) program provides students with the rigorous academic skills, practical experience and multidisciplinary studies that will enable them to meet the public health challenges of the 21st century. Beginning with academic year 2020-2021, the MPH program will include six courses, taken as a single cohort by all MPH degree students, in the first year of study. Students will also complete required courses as defined by their area of interest. Across the core curriculum, students will focus on ethics and equity issues; global and local perspectives; communication, systems thinking, leadership and collaborative skills; and the evidence-to-action-and-back cycle.The General Epidemiology Track combines broad training in public health with specific training in the principles and methods of epidemiology. The degree requirements include course work in epidemiology, biostatistics, health services, environmental health, and social and behavioral sciences, as well as a practicum experience in a public health agency; and completion of a research-based master's thesis. Students may select a General MPH program in Epidemiology or participate in the Maternal and Child Health or Global Health tracks.
