Master of Arts in Translation and Interpreting Studies / Master of Library and Information Science

In collaboration with several other academic units at UW-Milwaukee, SOIS offers students the opportunity to obtain two Master's degrees concurrentlyone in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and one in a subject area. The Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) component of each of the coordinated programs includes 30 credits of SOIS courses. These include the MLIS core courses (12 credits). The remaining 18 MLIS credits are selected from the School's offerings in accordance with the student's goals in the coordinated degree program.

A baccalaureate degree, or its equivalent as determined by the UWM Center on International Education, from a regionally accredited institution, completed before the first term of enrollment in the Graduate School.

A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results with a minimum required score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) and a minimum recommended sub-score of 18 in each skill).

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) results with a minimum required score of 6.5, with minimum recommended sub-score of 6.0 in each skill.

CAE (Cambridge English: Advanced aka Certificate of Advanced English) or CPE (Cambridge English: Proficiency aka Certificate of Proficiency in English) results with a minimum required level of C1 and a minimum recommended score of 170 on any given language skill test.

C1 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR).
