Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering)

Today's mechanical engineer must be soundly educated in the mechanics of solids and fluids, thermodynamics and heat transfer, the science of materials, and the principles and techniques of mechanical engineering design. In studying mechanical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, students and faculty work side by side on concerns in energy conservation and machine design, manufacturing, instrumentation, environmental control and biomechanics. The degree awarded in this program is the B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.Program educational objectives are broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to attain within a few years of graduation. These objectives are based on the needs of the program’s constituencies.
