Located in Sydney, Australia, the university is a research university that is among the top 50 universities in the Times Higher Universities rankings. Founded in 1850, The University of Sydney is regarded as Australia's first university, and this motto of the university, which is "Sidere mens eadem mutato" in Latin, can be roughly translated into Turkish as "Stars change but essence / mind remains the same".

In the QS World University rankings, the employment rate of its graduates is ranked 1st in Australia and 4th in the world. It ranks 2nd in the world in the Times Higher Education 2020 Impact Rankings. The University of Sydney, a member of Australia's research universities and the Group of 8, known as the standard of quality in education, has more than 400 departments offered, with two of these departments ranking in the top two in the world and 30 in the top 50.

Founded in 1850, The University of Sydney is one of Australia's leading and oldest public universities.
