It allows international students towards after they have graduated for up to a year. If you are studying these ten programs that science, technology, Engineering and Math, you can extend it OPT to two additional years. Thank you.

OPT stands for optional practical training that allows international students to gain industry work experience for 12 months. Students with STEM-based majors such as science, technology, engineering and maths, can have an additional extension for 24 months.

The students can get a work visa after the completion of their degree for 12 months, and they can work full-time in that time period and can get it extended for another 24 months.

So at the community college level, you would get one year no matter what your major. And after the bachelor's degree, you would get one to three years depending on your major.
