The University will award an NTU Estranged Student Bursary of £1,000 to help towards the living costs of eligible students who start their studies with us in 2026.
The NTU Estranged Student Bursary is available for each year of full-time study, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
You may be eligible for this bursary if:
- you're under 25, and
- your UK national Student Finance service has assessed you as independent on the grounds of estrangement from your parents, and
- you're on a full-time course leading to an Undergraduate Degree, Foundation Degree, Certificate of Higher Education, Higher National Diploma or Higher National Certificate.
If your national Student Finance service has assessed you as independent on the grounds of estrangement, there is nothing further that you need to do. We will automatically award you the Estranged Student Bursary.
