The Department of Economics is the home of the Fraser of Allander Institute, a leading impartial economic research institute. The FAI plays a crucial role in the MSc in Applied Economics, through teaching and summer projects, giving students the chance to engage with staff at the cutting edge of applied economics research, industry experience and policymaking. FAI is delighted to offer up to 6 Scholarships to the value of £6,000 for Home/EU students who hold an offer of a place on the programme for entry September 2025.
Eligibility
In order to be considered for this scholarship award, applications should be submitted no later than the closing date of 30th June 2025. Successful candidates will be notified by the end of July.
Candidates must be self-funded (i.e. not in receipt of any funding from any other scholarships, employer sponsorship, etc) and already hold an offer of a place on the Full Time MSc Applied Economics programme for entry September 2025.
Candidates interested in applying for an FAI scholarship should provide a maximum 1000 word statement demonstrating, through their ideas, experience and future career plans (including their reasoning for joining the MSc Applied Economics) why they should be awarded this scholarship. Candidates will also be considered on the overall quality of their application and financial need.
Please note that students are only eligible for one scholarship per academic year from the University of Strathclyde.
