Commuter Bursary

To help with travel costs, we offer a means-tested, commuter bursary for full-time undergraduate students.

Students must fulfil all criteria below:

• Students paying Home fees
• Students from a household with a gross income of less than £28,000 per annum
• Students who have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time undergraduate bachelor's degree at UWL and be starting their new course at Level 4 in September 2026 or October 2026.

The following students are not eligible:

• Students on a BA/BSc/BEng with Foundation Year
• Students on courses eligible to apply for additional funding from the NHS Learning Support Fund (eg Nursing and Midwifery courses) or UWL Biomedical Science Bursary
• Students paying the 'Overseas' fee rate
• Students whose fees are paid or part-paid through a sponsorship arrangement (eg degree apprentices or students studying on a collaborative programme)
• Students studying at affiliate or partner institutions

If we are able to access household income data from Student Loans Company, no application is required if you are eligible you will be considered automatically. If you are not automatically considered, further information and an application form will be provided after the start of the October semester.
