Doctor of Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best jobs in the health care sector. As a physical therapist, you'll impact people's lives in meaningful ways, from helping them regain movement to managing pain, and promoting wellness. You'll work with people for extended periods of time, developing rewarding relationships.

With a Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) degree, you'll have the option to treat patients across the lifespan from children to adults to senior citizens. You'll be equipped to work in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, outpatient clinics and private homes, and in a range of practice areas including neurology, sports training, orthopedics and oncology. Our department is at the forefront of physical therapy research, pedagogy and treatment. Our graduates enter the field as thought leaders, capable of guiding organizations, communities and health care professionals. Along with theory and research, you'll learn to use evidence-based practice to meet each client's specific therapeutic needs.

Completion of a bachelor\u2019s degree prior to enrollment in the program.

Admission to graduate studies at CSUN.

Completion of all prerequisite courses or approved substitutions prior to enrollment with a minimum grade of \u201cC\u201d and a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The deadline for submitting the supplementary application to the PTCAS for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program is October 1. Applicants are notified by the end of November.
