Admission to the program requires a Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited university. It is expected that students will have received a major in Spanish, or a degree in a closely related field plus at least four (4) upper-division courses in Spanish.
A grade point average of 2.5 or higher, plus an average of 3.0 or higher in upper-division Spanish courses, is required for admission.
Graduates of universities where English is not the principal language must take the combined Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and receive a minimum score of 550 on the TOEFL and a minimum of 4.5 on the Test of Written English (TWE) portion of the paper-based TOEFL or on the writing portion of the computer-based TOEFL.
Satisfy English Language Proficiency Requirement for admission purposes with one of the following: TOEFL score of 80 iBT; IELTS overall band score of 6.0, writing score no lower than 6.0 and no section score below 5.5; Bachelor's or master's degree from a U.S. university; Bachelor\u2019s degree from a post-secondary institution where English is the principal language of instruction (confirm with International Admission Office to see if your school is eligible).
