Graduate Certificate in Choral Conducting

The Choral Conducting concentration at Georgia State University offers exceptional training to talented musicians wishing to study choral art at an advanced level. Intensive study with our faculty and regular performance experience is the foundation for developing highly qualified, professional conductors. Students in the program regularly conduct the Master Singers, an auditioned chamber choir of 20 to 30 voices in rehearsal and performance and assist with the other four choral ensembles (Treble Choir, Tenor-Bass Choir, University Singers and Choral Union). The Artist Certificate in Choral Conducting concentration at Georgia State University offers a focused and intensive curriculum for advanced conductors seeking to elevate their skills and artistry in choral conducting. This program provides a comprehensive study of choral repertoire, conducting techniques, score analysis, vocal pedagogy and rehearsal strategies. Students engage in advanced choral conducting masterclasses, ensemble rehearsals and performances with renowned choral ensembles.

The curriculum is designed to deepen students’ musical interpretation, conducting proficiency and leadership abilities in the choral genre. Through personalized mentorship and rigorous training, students develop a comprehensive understanding of the art of choral conducting. Graduates of the Artist Certificate in Choral Conducting program emerge as accomplished conductors, prepared to lead and inspire choral ensembles at the highest level of artistic excellence.
