Master of Science in Psychology

Students enrolled in the Clinical and Experimental Psychology doctoral programs earn a Master's of Science in Psychology as they work towards their doctorate, for course work completed along the way. This is not a stand-alone Master of Science in Psychology program. To ensure that students who receive a master’s degree in psychology will be prepared for further post-graduate study and for careers in related areas, the department has identified the following goals understand core areas and the breadth of the field of psychology and its applications. Be able to integrate knowledge and theories across, and to think critically about, topics within the domains of psychology. Be competent in library information technology and computer applications related to the study of psychology. Be competent in scientific methodology and analysis as they apply to the study of psychology. Be able to communicate effectively, in both oral and written form, about issues within the field of psychology. Actively participate in the research process and understand and comply with the APA code of ethics pertaining to research conduct.

Freshman applicants must submit official secondary school mark sheets and diploma. Mailed documents must be originals or copies certified by the school principal or controller of examinations and sealed in a school envelope. Documents not in English must be translated by a certified translator. Official transcripts are also accepted by email if sent directly from the school principal or registrar. Students who do not meet minimum English proficiency requirements may apply for conditional admission, during which time they will need to be enrolled in an intensive English program, such as ISU\u2019s IEI program, in preparation for full-time academic study at ISU. Have graduated from a high school or secondary school with satisfactory grades, received a diploma or certificate of graduation, and be eligible for admission to a major university in the country from which they graduated. A grade of \u201cC-\u201d or better must be attained in all required BT program specific courses. If a \u201cC-\u201d or better is not achieved in a required BT class, the student may repeat the class only one time. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for graduation
