As a result, industrial and systems engineering is the "people person’s" engineering. Industrial and systems engineers improve quality and productivity while at the same time cutting waste like time, materials, money, and energy. This is why many industrial engineers often get promoted into management positions. The Ph.D. is pursued by outstanding students like you who have an intense interest in independent study and research. We accept applications from undergraduate majors in engineering. Degrees in the behavioral, physical and mathematical sciences are also welcomed.
