Bachelor of Arts in Spanish/ Master of Arts in Spanish (Accelerated)

Saint Louis University's accelerated Spanish B.A. to M.A. program offers qualified Spanish majors the opportunity to begin work toward the Master of Arts in Spanish while completing requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, thereby reducing the time needed to earn the master's degree. Students may apply up to 15 graduate credits to both the B.A. and M.A. degrees. For the B.A., those credits will all satisfy major electives.
Students who major in Spanish at Saint Louis University gain a necessary asset in an increasingly globalized, complex world. Mastering Spanish as the demand for bilingual workers in the U.S. continues to rise gives graduates a competitive edge in education, health care, business, international relationships, government, cultural studies, social work and law enforcement. It also broadens one's horizons by increasing cultural awareness and global contacts.
Degree requirements include 30 credits of coursework, a final written examination and a final oral examination. Students may fulfill all or part of the program requirements on either campus.

To be considered for admission to any Saint Louis University undergraduate program, the applicant must be graduating from an accredited high school, have an acceptable HiSET exam score or take the General Education Development (GED) test. Beginning with the 2021-22 academic year, undergraduate applicants will not be required to submit standardized test scores (ACT or SAT) in order to be considered for admission. Applicants will be evaluated equally, with or without submitted test scores.

To ensure a successful academic experience at Saint Louis University, we require international applicants to demonstrate they are proficient in the English language by submitting scores from any one of the following standardized tests:

IELTS minimum score of 6.5; Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) minimum score of 80; Paper-based TOEFL (PBT) minimum score of 550; PTE minimum score of 54; Duolingo minimum score of 125.
