B.A. (Moderatorship) Honours (Level 8) - Physical Sciences - Nanoscience

Nanoscience is the study of materials and devices at the nanoscale (less than 100 nm), a scale at which many exotic properties and behaviours come to the fore, leading to applications including advanced catalysis, biomedical imaging, batteries, and solar cells among many others. Nanoscience thus encompasses the design, synthesis, characterisation, testing, and use of such materials and devices, and lies at the interface of Chemistry and Physics.

Applicants must have completed a high school qualification equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate Leaving Certificate: H6 or O4 in Mathematics H4 in two of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Physics/Chemistry, Geography, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Agricultural Science GCSE: Grade B/6 in Mathematics Advanced GCE (A-Level): Grade C in two of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Physics/Chemistry, Geography, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Agricultural Science International Baccalaureate: SL Grade 5 in Mathematics HL Grade 5 in two of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Physics/Chemistry, Geography, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Agricultural Science Certain combinations of subjects are not permitted, including: Physics/Chemistry with Physics or Chemistry.
