Master of Science in Kinesiology - Motor Behavior

The M.S. Program in Kinesiology with a concentration in Motor Behavior is primarily intended for individuals who wish to gain an advanced knowledge base in the areas of motor learning and motor control. This is a coursework-only degree.

The Motor Behavior area focuses on research in the disciplines of motor learning and motor control. This collaborative environment prepares practitioners, researchers, and educators to reduce injury risk, return to normal function post-injury, and improve health and performance for physically active individuals of all ages.

For over a century, the Department of Kinesiology has been a cornerstone department of the University. Beginning as the Department of Physiology and Physical Culture in the Women's College in 1892, the department took the progressive view that women should be physically active to improve their health and wellness. As the department evolved and grew with the university, our name changed, but our mission to promote education in and instruction of physical health remains at our core.

The Graduate School requires a course-by-course evaluation report showing completion of a bachelors and a graduate degree if required by the program that is equivalent to a US degree from an international college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned. Students enter Graduate School with no academic standing and are expected to earn at least a GPA of 3.0 in their first semester to be placed in Academic Good Standing Continuing students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in all graduate course work at UNCG to remain in Academic Good Standing.
