PhD Humanities

Roehampton aims to provide its research students with the opportunity to study in a stimulating, responsive, supportive environment, which fosters independent, critical thinking. A PhD is for students who wish to devise an independent research project which will result in an original contribution to knowledge in the subject area. The Graduate School is the centre of the research student community at Roehampton. All research students belong to the Graduate School in addition to their Academic School. At the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, we offer a wide range of outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate degrees designed to meet your academic interests and career aspirations. Our degrees are intricately designed with industry demands in mind, ensuring that you graduate equipped with the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed in your chosen career. We offer much more than just classrooms and lectures. From cutting-edge technology to immersive learning environments, our facilities are designed to provide you with the tools and resources necessary to prepare you for the real world.

To enter the PhD programme you are expected to hold a master's degree in a relevant subject area or in some cases, be able to provide evidence of equivalent experience and learning acquired in a professional context.
