Peace and Prosperous

Canada is located in North America and consists of ten provinces and three territories. With only 150 years of history, the country has made considerable progress in education and economy and has quickly evolved into what it is today. Thanks to the well-established education system and top teaching quality, Canada ranked No. 1 for “Best Countries for Education” by U.S. News. This year, it topped Switzerland and won “The Best Country in the World in 2021”.

Suitable for living

Canada is one of the most popular countries for immigration. The country is recognised as one of the top ten safest countries in the world. It has flexible immigration policies as well as a well-established immigration system, coupled with a cordial and inclusive culture, with less racial discrimination than other countries. These attract people from all around the world to study and live in Canada.

Tuition fee in Canada, when compared to universities in the US, UK and AUS, is fairly cheaper, which cost only 25,000 –60,000 CAD on average. The accommodation cost and cost of living is around 15,000 – 25,000 CAD, also cheaper than other popular study abroad destinations. When considering the return on investment, it is quite a viable option.

Education System

There are more than 90 universities in Canada. Normally a bachelor's degree takes 4 years to complete, similar to that of Hong Kong. After completing DSE, Hong Kong students can apply for Canadian universities or a 2-year professional diploma program or associate degree program and transfer the credits to university year 3. Alternatively, you can enrol in Pathway Programs provided by colleges or educational institutions which have partnerships with certain universities. Students who meet the requirements can then transfer to university year 2.

Studying in Canada requires detailed planning, yet choosing a university, calculating fees, and applying for student visa can be a challenging process. IDP education is here to help you kick off your Canada study plan and realise your dream.
