Introduction

IDP Philippines is hosting their first Study, Explore, Soar: International Education Fair of the year. Top universities and colleges from across the globe will gather to exchange a fusion of academic opportunities, global perspectives, and expert guidance with potential students from the Philippines and beyond.

This year’s Fair is special because it marks the beginning of IDP Philippines’ celebration of their four decades in the international education industry. Formally established in Metro Manila in 1985, the organization continues to help Filipinos who plan to study abroad.

Just like the usual, the Fair serves as a one-stop shop for aspiring international students. It will run for two days:

  • February 7 – Seda Ayala Center, Cebu (12:00 NN to 5:00 PM)

  • February 8 – Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria (12:00 NN to 5:00 PM)

What To Expect:

Over 60 schools will participate in the Fair. Booths will be installed for every university, allowing attendees to approach school representatives and inquire about their programs, scholarship options, and other country-specific requirements. The Fair welcomes questions of all kinds, from visa applications down to living arrangements and conditions.

The first half of the event will feature seminars that explore the benefits of studying abroad. These sessions are packed with practical tips to give you a glimpse into life as an international student. Speakers will also cover IDP’s Student Essentials, including guidance on managing finances, securing accommodations, handling money transfers, and other important details of studying overseas.

Another highlight of the event would be the personalized counseling sessions offered by IDP’s international education specialists. These one-on-one sessions are designed to help students discover the perfect school and program for them based on their qualifications and personal preferences.

There will also be games, raffle draws, and other activities, which are perfect for students who were waiting for their turn in the counseling area or the school reps’ booths. The biggest prizes – two brand-new luggage bags – are reserved for students who will book follow-up appointments or submit their application during the event.

Specific booths for booking appointments and submission of applications will be set up. Those who plan to submit their applications are encouraged to bring a copy of their latest transcript of records (TOR), passport, and updated resume. The IDP team will process your papers at no cost.

IELTS at the Fair

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) will also be part of the event. It is the world’s most globally recognized and trusted English language test for employment, migration, and study and is jointly owned by IDP. Those who want to take the exam will benefit from joining IDP’s Gear Up for IELTS seminars, which will take place on the same days and at the same venue as IDP’s International Education Fair, with only the times differing:

  • February 7 – Seda Ayala Center, Cebu (9:00 AM to 12:00 NN)

  • February 8 – Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria (9:00 AM to 12:00 NN)

During this free seminar, English as a Second Language (ESL) experts will lead a masterclass where they will share practical tips to help you achieve your target IELTS score, avoid common mistakes, and understand the examination process in detail.

Attendees will also experience simulations of the IELTS on Computer exam and learn about rates, promos, possible discounts, and other essential details to help prepare for the test day.

The IELTS booth is present for both the Gear Up seminar and the main Fair. Review partners will also be there, offering exclusive discounts and promos. The Gear Up seminar will surely be a valuable experience for anyone looking to get ready for the exam.
