Students pursuing their dream of studying in Australia and New Zealand attended IDP Philippines' send-off party on 07 December 2024. The two-leg event, held simultaneously in The Travel Club Shangri-La Plaza (Mandaluyong) and The Travel Club Rockwell Mall (Makati), catered to 35 students and their families.

Attendees received practical advice and emotional support before embarking on their international study journey. The event featured a series of short seminars covering essential topics, such as visa processes, adjusting to a new culture, and tips for academic success abroad. IDP’s experienced counselors were on-site to provide tailored advice and answer last-minute questions, ensuring that all students and their families were ready for the challenges ahead.

Much-beloved Filipino foods were also served at the venue. There were kakanins, chips, and other proudly Pinoy snacks that students will surely miss once they're already in Australia and New Zealand.

Anyone can study abroad

Some people think that studying abroad is just for the young and that people with families can no longer dream of pursuing international education. One of the attendees proved that such an idea is not necessarily true.

Rob, a student bound for Australia, is planning to take master's degrees in business and project management. He wants to bring his family, too, and IDP helped make it happen for him.

He said that, with IDP, he didn't experience the hassle because he only had to talk to one person throughout the entire process of flying abroad to study.

"I would highly encourage all the students -- those trying not just to explore but also to learn in quality universities -- to study in Australia through IDP... IDP is a way or a bridge to connect you to your dream school," he said when asked for his advice for aspiring international students like him.

Platform for connection and networking

Beyond the practicalities, the event served as a networking platform among students heading to the same universities and cities. Several attendees already made friends with each other, allowing them to connect once they're already abroad to pursue their studies.

The location of the event strengthened IDP Philippines' partnership with The Travel Club, one of the country's leading bag and luggage retailers. Students and their loved ones who attended the event were treated to exclusive promos and discounts for some of the brands carried by The Travel Club, offering huge savings on their travel essentials.
