Bachelor of Arts in Sociology to Master of Science in Sociology (Accelerated)

Saint Louis University's accelerated bachelor'smaster's program offers the opportunity for outstanding sociology majors to begin a master's program in their senior year, completing the M.S. in Sociology with a full-time fifth year of graduate study after their successful completion of both the first-year requirements and their undergraduate degree and major. At Saint Louis University, the Bachelor of Arts in Sociology program’s subject matter ranges from family life to large-scale organizations, from crime to religion, from the divisions of race and social class to the shared beliefs of a common culture, from poverty to prosperity and from the sociology of work to the sociology of sport. Few fields have such a broad and exciting scope.Combining outstanding scholarship and practical experience, Saint Louis University's sociology faculty members are engaged in cutting-edge research and bring this expertise to the classroom to enrich the educational experience of students. Courses are taught by interdisciplinary faculty from sociology and public policy who integrate the theory, practical experience and empirical skills needed in 21st-century organizations.

Sociology B.A.

To be considered for admission to any Saint Louis University undergraduate program, the applicant must be graduating from an accredited high school, have an acceptable HiSET exam score or take the General Education Development (GED) test. Beginning with the 2021-22 academic year, undergraduate applicants will not be required to submit standardized test scores (ACT or SAT) in order to be considered for admission. Applicants will be evaluated equally, with or without submitted test scores.

Sociology M.S.

Successful applicants possess 3.0 or higher GPA and sufficient TOEFL scores (for international applicants).

English Language Proficiency Requirements

To ensure a successful academic experience at Saint Louis University, we require international applicants to demonstrate they are proficient in the English language by submitting scores from any one of the following standardized tests:

IELTS minimum score of 6.5; Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) minimum score of 80; Paper-based TOEFL (PBT) minimum score of 550; PTE minimum score of 54; Duolingo minimum score of 125.
