Bachelor of Science in Accounting to Master of Accounting

Accounting is the language of business decision-making and is a primary means of organizational communication. The accountant’s role has changed substantially over the past decade. Today, accountants are actively involved in analyzing and interpreting financial data and work with other executives in decision-making and problem-solving activities. SLU's accounting graduates have a long history of success on the CPA exam, with pass rates exceeding both the Missouri and national averages. Many of our graduates have passed all parts of this critical exam on their first attempt. The 2021 CPA Success Index, published in Accounting Today, ranked SLU 26 in the country among large accounting programs. There may be a financial aid advantage to this option. Any semester(s) of unused undergraduate University scholarships may be applied while enrolled in master-level coursework. For example, if a student has an eight-semester undergraduate scholarship but only needs seven semesters to complete the bachelor’s component of the integrated program, the student may apply the last semester of their scholarship (prorated) to the first semester of the master’s component of the integrated program. However, undergraduate federal aid would not apply for the master’s component of the integrated program. In addition, tuition remission is not considered a university scholarship and, therefore, cannot be used for the master’s component of the integrated program.

For admission into this program, a student\u2019s overall grade point average (GPA) and GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) score are very important.

The GMAT will be waived for SLU accounting undergraduates with a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA, or a minimum 3.40 accounting GPA, at the end of 105 credits. Students may apply for admission to this program upon completion of both:

• A minimum of 75 semester college credits (including a minimum of 15 credits completed at SLU with a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average)
• An upper-level accounting course completed at SLU with a grade of "B" or better

English Language Proficiency Requirements

To ensure a successful academic experience at Saint Louis University, we require international applicants to demonstrate they are proficient in the English language by submitting scores from any one of the following standardized tests:

IELTS minimum score of 6.5; Computer-based TOEFL (IBT) minimum score of 80; Paper-based TOEFL (PBT) minimum score of 550; PTE minimum score of 54.

Application Deadline:

Apply by March 15 for entry into the program for the summer or fall semesters. Apply by October 15 for entry into the program for the spring term.
