IDP Philippines and Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC) partner to open the new International English Language Testing System (IELTS) on Computer shared lab last September 22, 2022, at the NOLITC Compound in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

IDP Philippines’ Country Director, Jose Miguel Habana, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Lacson, Provincial administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz and NOLITC Administrator, Dr. Ma. Cristina Orbecido led the office opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies.

With the opening of the IDP-NOLITC IELTS Shared Lab in Bacolod City, more Filipinos will now have access to the world’s leading high-stakes English language proficiency test for study, work, and migration, and be a step closer to achieving their life goals abroad.

The IDP-NOLITC IELTS shared lab is the first partnership between IDP and a government institution.

Jose Miguel Habana, Country Director for IDP Philippines, said that IDP plans to continue to expand the institution’s IELTS testing footprint as well as IDP’s study abroad services around the Philippines.

“Our goal in the next few years is to bring IDP and IELTS closer to the market by expanding our footprint in all key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. IDP changed the English testing industry when we launched IELTS more than 30 years ago, and we continue to lead the sector today. With the opening of the IDP-NOLITC lab, we all become part of IELTS history,” he added.

Meanwhile, Governor Eugenio Lacson emphasized that with the rising advocacy to go paperless and the need for digitalization, computer-based exams became necessary. He said that the provincial government is proud to open the first shared lab in the Visayas that will provide IELTS on Computer exam.

“This development, which makes IELTS more accessible, will greatly aid Negrenses, and those from nearby provinces, in the pursuit of their study, work, or migration goals,” said the governor.

IDP has more than 1,500 IELTS test locations across 56 countries, including more than 280 IELTS on computer test centers. As IELTS is the world’s most recognized, reliable, and secure English language experience, the IDP-NOLITC IELTS Shared Lab allows test takers to book their IELTS test at the venue, have access to numerous IELTS test preparation and review materials and take IELTS on computer.

IELTS on Computer offers an convenient way of completing the Reading, Listening and Writing parts of the test using a computer, together with the Video Call Speaking (VCS) test with an IELTS examiner, allowing test takers to complete the entire test in only one day. Test takers can also enjoy faster release of test results in just three to five days and enjoy more testing schedules to choose from.
