QS World University Rankings

Checkout the global ranking of your university

It can be quite challenging to decide which university or institution you want to study at. Given there is a range of factors you need to look at before finalising your future destination, it’s a wise step to refer to the QS Rankings of the university or institution you are considering to study abroad.

What is the QS World ranking?

Simply put, the QS ranking is an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarellu Symonds, a British organisation specialising in the education industry. It was first published in 2004 in collaboration with Times Higher Education and was known as the Times Higher Education – QS World University Rankings until 2009 when both decided to publish their own versions.

Is QS World University Rankings reliable?

The QS has an Intelligence Unit which is responsible for compiling the rankings. This unit states annually that thousands of academic respondents contribute to the reliability of their annual academic results.

Moreover, according to the Guardian, independent academic reviews have confirmed that QS results are over 99% reliable.

What's the QS Ranking methodology?

According to the QS Rankings website, the QS World University Rankings are based on the below 6 metrics to evaluate universities:

  1. Academic Reputation (40%)
  2. Employer Reputation (10%)
  3. Faculty/Student Ratio (20%)
  4. Citations per faculty (20%)
  5. International Faculty Ratio (5%)
  6. International Student Ratio (5%)
