IDP Global Voices English Speaking Competition 2023 Award Ceremony

On December 17, 2023, the Organizing Committee of IDP Global Voices 2023 held an award ceremony to honor 29 excellent contestants who completed the Final Round with the participation of representatives of the Organizing Committee from IDP Study Abroad, IDP IELTS and ACET English Center. Platinum sponsor Monash University, Diamond sponsor Curtin University, and distinguished guests.

With the goal of helping high school students improve their rhetorical skills, and build critical and creative thinking, IDP has organized the IDP Global Voices English online speech contest - a comprehensive playground combining knowledge and skills, where contestants affirm their abilities with the voices of the young generation of Vietnam. thereby opening the door to access leading international education.

The contest went through a 3-month journey, with 5 weeks of registration, the organizers received registration from 2,598 contestants from 439 high schools in 56 provinces and cities nationwide. The preliminary round took place excitingly with more than 1800 entries from high school students aged 15-17, 181 contestants completed the 2nd round and from there, the organizers selected 29 young talents to participate in the Final Round which took place on November 26, 2023.

The 10 schools with the largest number of contestants participating in Round 1 in the IDP Global Voices 2023 speech contest include:

The champion of the IDP Global Voices Speech Contest 2023 is Pham Quynh Anh – a grade 12 student from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted – Khanh Hoa.

Quynh Anh not only impressed the judges because of her excellent English speaking ability but also because of the way she approached the problem. What makes Quynh Anh's presentation different from most others is because of your inspiring story about using hand-drawn images to encourage friends and relatives who are struggling with mental issues.

Quynh Anh gave specific examples of the projects that you have been working on as well as specific plans for the next steps on the path of using art to heal broken hearts, a new approach to becoming a global citizen.

The 2 excellent contestants who won the second prize were Pham Tran Bao Chau - a 10th grade student of True North Bilingual School – in Hanoi and Tran Ngoc Phuong Vy - a 12th-grade student from Chau Van Liem High School – Can Tho

3 contestants won the Third Prize:

· Nguyen Tra My - 12th-grade student of Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted – Ho Chi Minh City. HCM
