Choosing where and what to study overseas can involve a lot of research. You might have university websites open in multiple tabs, courses saved for later, and plenty of questions that aren’t always easy to answer online.
Sometimes, it helps to speak to someone face to face.
At IDP Vietnam, our Study Abroad Education Fairs bring students, parents, university representatives and IDP counsellors together in one place.
Whether you’re still exploring your options, comparing particular courses or universities, considering postgraduate study, or helping your child make a decision, the fair gives you an opportunity to ask questions and work out what comes next.
Over the years, we have welcomed students and families in Vietnam as they explore study opportunities in destinations such as Australia, the UK, Canada, USA, New Zealand and Ireland.
Here’s a look at what happens at an IDP Vietnam Study Abroad Education Fair, some highlights from our past events, and what you can expect when you join us at the next one.

What is it actually like at an IDP Study Abroad Education Fair?
Or perhaps you’re facing the opposite problem: too many courses bookmarked, too many university websites open and no idea how to narrow them down.
Both are completely normal.
At an IDP Study Abroad Education Fair, you can move between university booths, speak directly with representatives and compare your options in person.
One conversation might be about whether your academic results meet the entry requirements. The next could be about scholarships, accommodation or what student life is like overseas. You can also speak with IDP counsellors to help make sense of the information you’ve collected.
And you don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what or where you want to study.
Some students come with a particular university and course in mind. Others are comparing different study destinations. Some are at the very beginning and want to understand which options might suit their academic background and future plans.
The fair gives you the space to explore those questions in person.
From attending an IDP fair to studying overseas
For some students, attending an IDP Study Abroad Education Fair is one of the first practical steps in their overseas education journey.
The journey might start with a conversation at a university booth, followed by an appointment with an IDP counsellor to discuss courses and applications.
From there, it could progress to:
Why attend a study abroad fair when everything is online?
There’s no shortage of information about studying overseas online.
The difficult part is often working out which information matters to you.
You can find a university’s published entry requirements online, for example, but you may still want to ask how those requirements apply to your particular academic background.
You can read about accommodation, but you or your parents might want to ask what support is available to international students when they first arrive.
You can compare course pages, but it may not be obvious why two degrees with similar names have different modules, learning experiences or career pathways.
A study abroad fair gives you the chance to ask those questions directly.
And you don’t need to have everything figured out before attending.
Figuring things out is one of the benefits of attending our study abroad fair.
Thinking of attending the next IDP Vietnam Study Abroad Education Fair?
If studying overseas is something you’re considering, the next IDP Study Abroad Education Fair is an opportunity to explore your options in person.
A little preparation can help you make better use of your time.
Before attending, consider:
Which countries or universities would you like to explore?
Are there particular courses you’re interested in?
What questions do you want university representatives to answer?
Are scholarships important to your decision?
Do you have your latest academic results available?
If your parents or family are coming with you, what would they like to know?
Don’t worry if you can’t answer all of these yet. You can also come to the fair simply to explore.
