Australian National University (ANU) is a leading public research university in the world, located in Canberra – a city that is considered to have the world's leading healthy lifestyle (according to the 2021 Money.co.uk survey). ANU currently holds the #4 position in Australia and the top 32 in the world (QS World University Rankings 2026). 2.1. New policy on admission from ANU
From 2025, ANU will officially expand the direct admission policy for students graduating from all high schools in Vietnam (no longer limited to the list of 92 schools as before). This helps many young people have the opportunity to apply and receive an early admission letter (Letter of Offer) right after the results of grade 12.
Admission conditions include:
Requirements for admission to undergraduate level (Undergraduate)
With 92 high schools on the recognized list: Grade 12 GPA of 8.5 or higher. ( List of 92 schools)
For other high schools in Vietnam: Grade 12 GPA from 8.5 with SAT/ACT scores.
English language proficiency: IELTS 6.5, no band below 6.0.
Requirements for admission to the postgraduate level
Degrees from Vietnamese universities in Section 1 are accepted.
GPA requirement: from 2.67/4 or 6.66/10.

In parallel with the change in entry requirements, the Australian National University (ANU) has also updated the grade 12 GPA conversion scale (Vietnam) to ATAR. This means that the best students in Vietnam can apply directly to all bachelor's programs at ANU based solely on their Grade 12 GPA.
Grade 12 GPA to ATAR (Australia Tertiary Admission Rank) Conversion Table
Grade 12 GPA | ATAR equivalent |
8.5 | 82 |
8.6 | 84 |
8.7 | 86 |
8.8 | 88 |
8.9 | 90 |
9.0 | 92 |
9.1 | 94 |
9.2 | 96 |
9.3 | 98 |
9.4 | 98.5 |
9.5 | 99 |
9.6 | 99.5 |
9.7 or higher | 99.95 |
